Izyum Mass Graves: EU Presidency Threatens War Crimes Tribunal

The Czech Republic, which is where the European Union presidency is located has on Saturday called for the establishment of an international tribunal for war crimes after some new mass graves had been discovered in Izyum, Ukraine.

The appeal is also following the discovery of around 450 graves which are also locted outside the formerly Russian-occupied city of Izyum with most of the exhumed bodies showing signs of torture.

Japan Braces Herself For ‘Very Tumultous’ Typhoon Nanmadol

The Japanese weather agency has put out an open warning on Saturday about some of the “unprecedented” risks from a “very dangerous” typhoon which has been heading towards the southern Kyushu island while they had urged the residents to take shelter ahead of the storm.

Fresh reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily News, New York has revealed that the British High Commission offices in Abuja, Lagos and across the rest of the country will be closed on Monday.

The United Kingdom Mission in Nigeria had also made the announcement in a terse statement on its social media accounts and the closure is in observance of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, it noted.
