Buhari Committed To Tackling Drug Abuse – Lai Mohammed Quips

Mr. Lai Muhammad who is the Nigerian minister of Information and Culture has on Tuesday reiterated that the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari is fully determined to tackle the rising menace of drug abuse which is becoming prevalent amongst Nigerian youths.

Mohammed who had made this statement in Asaba, Delta state during the opening ceremony of a two-day Annual Roundtable on Cultural Orientation, ARTCO which had been organised by the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO, said the Federal Government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that it wins the war against drug abuse in Nigeria.

Somali National Army (SNA) which is reportedly supported by local militia dubbed Ma’awisley killed more than 100 al-Shabab militants and liberated over 20 villages during security operations carried out in two regional states on Sunday, the government has disclosed.

Gunmen Kidnap ​Pastor In Plateau, Demand ₦20m Ransom

The Police Command in Plateau State has confirmed the abduction of a Christian cleric, Rev. Bung Dong sparking fresh fears in the area. 

Africa Daily News, New York reports that Dong was kidnapped at Ganawuri community in Riyom Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Alfred Alabo, Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident to newsmen in an interview in Jos.

Alabo said Dong was abducted on Sunday night, alongside one James Mann who was later rescued.
