Shettima Didn’t Beg To Be Nominated As Running Mate – Adeyemi

Smart Adeyemi who is the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District has on Sunday, revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima did not beg his principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be picked as his running mate.

Smart had reiterated this while he had been speaking on some of the national issues on Sunday at a press conference, saying that, “wild reactions trailing the APC on its choice of Shettima, a Muslim”, was normal in participatory democracy.

In lieu of the upcoming 2023 general elections, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has openly urged the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari to effect the withdrawal of some of the names of the nominees who are allegedly APC members which had been recently submitted to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, has written off reports of his suspension by the party’s Deputy National Chairman, Bamidele Ajadi saying that he is still the Presidenrial candidate of the party.

The Government of Lagos State has mandated all schools to begin the 2022/2023 academic year on September 5 , 2022 (Tomorrow).

This decision was confirmed in a statement on Saturday issued by the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance of the state, Abiola Seriki-Ayeni which was obtained by Africa Daily News, New York.
