2023: I Will Lead Nigeria Out Of Darkness, Atiku Vows

Against the backdrop of the strike saga which involved the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has vowed to lead Nigeria out of the darkness if they elect him as their President in 2023.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that the union’s strike which was happened on Wednesday left Nigeria in darkness for over 12 hours after it shut down power stations over welfare issues.

However, NUEE after its meeting with the Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige suspended the strike for two weeks.

Reports reaching Africa Daily News, New York have it that, since its inception in October of last year, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) e-Naira virtual currency network has seen over ₦4 billion in transactions.
Mr. Godwin Emefiele who is the CBN Governor disclosed this to the public, yesterday, at e-Naira’s Hackathon grand finale, hosted in Abuja.
In his words, ‘Since the launch of this great initiative, the e-Naira has reached 840,000 downloads, with about 270,000 active wallets comprising over 252,000 consumer wallets and 17,000 merchant wallets.’
