Court Slams Alleged Kidnap Kingpin, Wadume, Seven Years Jail Time

One of the foremost judges, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja has slammed a seven-year jail term on alleged kidnap kingpin, Mr Hamisu Bala, aka Wadume for his wrongdoings.

Justice Nyako had handed down most of the sentences after she had found him guilty of charges relating to escaping from lawful custody, as well as illegal dealings in prohibited firearms.

No fewer than five people were confirmed dead and 16 others injured following an explosion on Sunday in the port city of Guayaquil in Ecuador, an attack the government blamed on organized crime, officials said.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu to as a matter of urgency reopen voters’ registration to allow no fewer than seven million Nigerians that had already started their registration online to complete the process.
