Shell Shuts Down Floating Crude Oil Storage Facility Over Leakage

A Shell Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel which had been operating off the Bayelsa coastline, has been temporarily shut down due to water leakage.

SPDC Spokesman, Mr Michael Adande who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said the vessel has been safely anchored for repairs. He had also stated that the offshore crew on board the vessel christened Sea Eagle, reported the water inflow into the hull of the facility on July 24.

”The water inflow did not affect the section of the FPSO where any crude is stored.

Anibal Torres, Peru’s Prime Minister has tendered in his resignation on Wednesday thereby becoming the fourth Prime Minster to step down in a year under embattled President Pedro Castillo.

In a letter which he had sent to Castillo, who has survived two impeachment votes in 12 months and is the target of five criminal investigations, Torres said he was stepping down “for personal reasons.”

A 62-year-old French man seems to have had a lot of luck on his side as he had survived for 16 hours after his sailing boat capsized in the Atlantic ocean by staying in an air bubble.

The Nigerian House of Representatives while reacting to News of massive fraud in the system  has on Thursday threatened to cut off all forms of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, from funding any of the state tertiary institutions.

The Taiwan Defence Ministry has on Thursday confirmed that the China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had fired “several Tongfeng-class guided missiles” into the waters north-east and south-west of the island on Thursday afternoon.
