2023: I Will Do A Proper Handover To My Successor – Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has charged commissioners, heads of ministries, departments and agencies to begin compilation of relevant information required to document as successes, covering from 2015, when his administration started.

The Governor said he was determined to do a proper handover to his successor, despite the fact that his predecessor did not do a proper handover to him.

Wike gave the charge after he had sworn-in five new commissioners and assigned them portfolios at the Executive Chamber of Government House in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Southampton have completed the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo from Scottish giants Rangers on a four-year deal.

The Saints confirmed the acquisition of Aribo on their website on Saturday.

According to reports, Southampton will pay an initial £6 million with add-ons meaning the transfer could ultimately be worth in excess of £10 million once Rangers’ sell-on clause is factored in.

Kuje Attack: NCoS Clears Air On Inmates Stolen Money

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has debunked reports that fleeing inmates from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, during the attack, stole money (local and foreign currencies) belonging to their fellow inmates.

The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Mr Abubakar Umar, confirmed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

Some media reports had alleged that personnel at the Kuje Custodial Centre could not account for the sums of N82 million and $36,000 cash belonging to inmates.

Recall that scores of terrorists had, on July 5, launched an attack on the facility, bombing their way in.
