The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Lagos State, Jide Adediran has provided his reasons for the choice of Nollywood actress, Funke Akinfele as running mate despite reservations from several people. 

Miss Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa, confirmed her nomination as the deputy gubernatorial candidate of the PDP on Tuesday.

The Chairman of the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Tuesday warned that fresh waves of Covid-19 infections is a strong indicator that the pandemic is ‘nowhere near over’, whole also voicing concern the virus is ‘running freely’.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus pointed out he was worried that case numbers were continuing to rise, putting further pressure on stretched health systems and workers.

2023 Census: NPC Recruitment Portal Faces Attack From Hackers

The National Population Commission (NPC) has revealed that it successfully foiled an attempt to hack its recruitment portal for the 2023 census.

NPC Commissioner for Anambra, Chidi Ezeoke, made this known while speaking at a news conference in Awka on Tuesday.

Ezeoke revealed that the NPC had established a digitalised online geo-fenced portal to recruit personnel from selected communities across Nigeria.

The official also went on to assure Nigerians that the commission was committed to correcting anomalies to ensure an accurate and reliable census next year.
