Defend Yourselves But Don’t Use Guns, Adeboye Tells Christians

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on Christians to get jaw bones of cows for self-defence, rather than use guns.

Adeboye, offered this clarification while explaining his position on self-defence for Christians, said Samson was victorious in biblical times with jaw bones, and not with an AK-47.

The respected cleric offered the clarification on Sunday in a message, ‘Made for the top’, during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service monitored by Africa Daily News, New York.

A former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has dismissed the possibility of the Labour Party winning the presidential election in 2023.

Kwankwaso, who is contesting the election on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), made the comment during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York.

A Lagos-based waste recycling company, Freee Recycle Limited has revealed that the State generates about 870,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually.

UNICEF Excited Over Rescue Of 50 Children In Ondo

The recent rescue of over 50 children in a church basement in Ondo State has gotten the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) excited even as they called for further measures to forestall future occurrences.  

Africa Daily News, New York reports that the children were kept at The Whole Bible Believers Church, also known as Ondo Church, located at Valentino Area of the state, preparatory for ‘rapture’ that was supposed to take place in April, but was later shifted to September 2022.

The rescue had sparked serious outrage among many Nigerians over the weekend, especially on social media.

West African ECOWAS Leaders Finally Lift Sanctions On Mali

West African leaders on Monday morning announced the lifting of sanctions against the military regime in Mali many months after several sanctions were slammed down on the military junta who had seized power. 

The heads of state of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) had met in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, and accepted a proposal by the Malian military to hold elections and return to civilian rule by March 2024.

After military officers carried out two coups in less than a year, in August 2020 and May 2021, the alliance imposed devastating economic sanctions.
