It was a bloody Sunday as gunmen have reportedly attacked a Catholic Church in Ondo State while shooting at the worshippers indiscrimately and blowing up the premises afterwards.  It started off as an explosion on Sunday at the church which has been identified at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State after which gunshots were heard repeatedly.

2023: Sensitive Materials No Longer Kept With CBN – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has revealed that following recent developments, sensitive electoral materials will no longer be routed through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as was the case before now.

The Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, revealed that INEC would no longer keep sensitive electoral materials with the CBN, starting from the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti State.

Speaking in Abuja on Satuyrday, Yakubu explained that the move was aimed at preventing electoral materials from being compromised.

Buhari’s Govt Explains Recent Drop In Electricity Generation

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu has confirmed the dip in electricity generation in most parts of the country while explaining what he believes were the reasons behind it.

The situation affects some states in Nigeria as generation dipped to below 1,940MW from 3,647MW recorded earlier in the week.

In a statement on Saturday, Aliyu explained that the cause was the partial shutdown of the Oben gas plant.

A massive fire that swept through a container depot in southeastern Bangladesh, on Sunday morning has killed no fewer than 16 people while leaving more than 170, according to officials.

According to the officials, the fire broke out at a container facility on Saturday night at Sitakunda, 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the port city of Chittagong, triggering multiple explosions.
