The family of the winner of the annulled June 12 1993 presidential election, MKO Abiola, has appealed to the Federal Government to implement the manifesto of the late politician as a way of honouring him.

This, the family believes, would give succour to the less privileged in the country.

The Head of the Abiola Family, Murtala Abiola, made this appeal while addressing newsmen during the annual prayer session for the late business mogul at their family compound in Gbagura, Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State.

The World Bank dropped a devastating prediction on Nigeria declaring that people in Nigeria and its Sub-Saharan neighbours are expected to fall into extreme poverty in the coming months.

At Least Four Governors Not Paying Minimum Wage, NLC Laments

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has exposed no fewer than four Nigerian governors who are yet to implement the paltry ₦30,000 minimum wage in the country.

The governors mentioned included Prof. Ben Ayade of Cross River, Darius Ishaku of Taraba State, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara, and Okezie Ikpeazu.

The NLC also went on to appeal to the Federal Government to compel state governors owing the National Minimum Wage to implement without further delay.

No fewer than eleven people were killed and dozens left wounded when their pick-up truck ran over a landmine near Syria’s southern city of Daraa, a war monitor disclosed on Sunday.
