I Made Terrible Mistake With My Choice Of VP In 1999 – Obasanjo

One of the former Nigerian Presidents and elder Statesman, Olusegun Obasanjo  has thrown subtle jabs at his Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as he made revealations that he made a terrible mistake while picking his Vice President when he ruled as a civilian head of state in 1999.

Olusegun Obasanjo had made this statement at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State, while he was fielding questions from secondary school students in a programme which he had hosted.

As he caves in to the mounted pressures to extend the date for the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, Professor Mahmood Yakubu who is the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has made announcements that the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration which had been initially scheduled to come to an end on the 30th of June, 2022, has been adequately extended.

NASU, SSANU Announces Strike Extension By Two Months

While showing solidarity to the ASUU strike and decrying the wrongs that have been done to them, the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, have announced an extension to their strike action by an additional two months.

The announcement of this extension was contained in a circular to branch chairmen of the two unions in Ilorin on Friday.

The circular dated June 21, 2022, was jointly signed by the General Secretary of NASU, Prince Peters. A. Adeyemi, and Mohammed. N. Ibrahim.

Terrorists Invade Abuja Community, Kidnap 22 Persons

No fewer than 22 persons were kidnapped on Friday in a community within Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following an attack by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen

Police authorities in the FCT who confirmed the attack to reporters revealed that the attack happened within Rafin Daji, a boundary community Between Niger State and the FCT.

The acting FCT police spokesman, Oduniyi Omotayo told reporters that the gunmen attacked the community at the time farmers were cultivating their farmland.

‘The farmers were on their farmland working when gunmen outnumbered and kidnapped them,’ the spokesperson wrote in a brief WhatsApp message.
