Iranian Girls Detained For Taking Off Hijab At Skateboarding Event

Fresh reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily News, New York have revealed that the Iranian police have made arrests of some several teenage girls for not wearing adequate headscarves at a skateboarding competition in the southern city of Shiraz.

Some of the unfortunate girls “removed their hijab at the end of the sports event without observing the religious considerations and legal norms”, state news agency IRNA quoted Shiraz police chief Faraj Shojaee as saying.

“With the coordination of the judiciary, a number of perpetrators and people related to this gathering were identified and arrested on Thursday,” he said.

The French government has asserted that it aims to have its natural gas reserves at full capacity by autumn as European countries brace for supply cuts from major supplier Russia with the Ukraine war drags on.
