2023: APC Won’t Find It Funny if Tinubu Loses Ticket -Shettima

A former governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima, has warned that it would be ‘catastrophic’ for the All Progressives Congress (APC) if the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu isn’t elected as the party’s presidential candidate next week.

Shettima stated this on Friday while featuring on a programme on TVC which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York.

The former governor said whether APC members admit it or not, Tinubu has paid his dues as a party member.

Abeokuta Speech: I Did Not Disrespect Buhari, Tinubu Insists

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has stated that he holds President Muhammadu Buhari in high regard despite his recent comments about the President.

Reactions had trailed Mr Tinubu’s comments in Abeokuta on Thursday where he said he deserves to lead the nation after helping President Buhari win the 2015 election.

In a statement on Friday, Tinubu said his comments were not meant to disrespect the President and had been taken out of context.

He said reactions suggesting he had been disrespectful were sensational and incorrect.

Champions League: UEFA Apologises To Real Madrid, Liverpool

European football governing body, UEFA, has issued apologies to Liverpool and Real Madrid fans following ugly scenes that were witnessed in the Champions League final.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that the fans were caught up in distressing scenes at the Champions League final at Stade de France, Paris.

The French police were accused of using teargas and pepper spray on Liverpool fans who wanted to gain entrance into the stadium.

The match, which Real won 1-0, was delayed by 36 minutes as a result of the chaos.

John Oyegun, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening panel, has provided reasons why some presidential aspirants were disqualified on Friday ahead of the primaries of the party.
