China Denies Plan To Build Military Base In Solomons

China has reiterated that it ‘no intention at all’ to build a military base in the Solomon Islands, Foreign Minister Wang Yi have confirmed dismissing speculation about the purpose of its recent security pact with the island State.

The Chinese minister, who was in Honiara at the start of an extensive tour of Pacific island states, said the security agreement Beijing sealed last month with the Solomon Islands government was “above board, with honesty and integrity”.

Matawalle Confirmed As Winner APC Guber Primary In Zamfara

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has been declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s general election. 

The Chairman Electoral Committee for the APC governorship primary election in the state, Babagana Tijani, made the announcement on Thursday. He disclosed that Matawalle polled 733 votes to emerge as the winner of the primary election.

In reaction to the unstable price fluctuations that has besieged cooking gas sales in the country, the Nigeria Liquified Petroleum Gas Association (NLPGA) has provided the reason for the unsteady cost of cooking gas.

Yakubu said the fluctuations in the LPG price were caused by the local rate of the American currency.

“Once the United States dollars rise, it is only logical that it will affect the retail price”, he explained.

“But
