Why I Deleted Post Condemning Killing Of Deborah Samuel –Atiku

Former Vice President and a presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has explained why he opted a post he made that condemned the killing of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State, who was burnt alive on Thursday.

Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that the student was beaten to a pulp and burnt alive by male Muslim students who accused her of insulting Prophet Muhammed via a WhatsApp platform.

The school authority consequently announced the shutting down pf academic activities indefinitely as tension gripped residents of the area.

Russia Deports Romanian Diplomats In Revenge Move

In a move which analytics have termed as ‘expected’, Russia has openly expelled 10 Romanian diplomats, as well as a Bulgarian, in retaliation for a similar move by the two countries following Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Romanian foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday that “the Russian Federation declared 10 employees of the Romanian embassy in Moscow persona non grata”.

The expulsion was also confirmed by Moscow and follows the April 5 expulsion of 10 Russian diplomats “whose activities breached the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations”, according to the Romanian foreign ministry.
