Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has cried out that many were killed following a Russian missile strike in a village, Desna, in the Chernihiv region, north of Kyiv on Thursday.

Zelensky disclosed this in his nightly address on Thursday, which was broadcast in a message obtained by Africa Daily News, New York.

Desna is forty (40) miles from the border with Belarus.

“Russian strikes on Chernihiv region, in particular the terrible blow on the Desna, there is an analysis of debris, many dead,” Zelensky said.

The Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi has stated his country could be independent of Russian gas by the second half of 2024, which was longer than earlier estimates.
