The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo has asserted that his ability to attend to complex and sensitive issues when President Muhammadu Buhari was on medical vacation overseas stands him in good stead to lead the country from 2023.

He made the assertions during his visit to Kaduna State yesterday to meet with All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates.

Osinbajo pointed out that the moves he made in those critical moments brought to the fore his capability to move the country forward, when given the opportunity.

CAF Rules Out Kenya, Zimbabwe From 2023 AFCON Qualifiers

Kenya and Zimbabwe have been ruled out from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers having ‘failed to have their suspensions by FIFA set aside’ the Confederation of African Football has confirmed.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that FIFA had on February 24 suspended both federations over what they termed ‘government interference.’

‘As a consequence of having failed to have their suspensions by FIFA set aside, CAF has confirmed that both Kenya and Zimbabwe will not participate in the Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 qualifiers,’ read the CAF statement.

Former Minister of State for Education and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, says 3,150 Nigerians raised money to purchase his ₦100 million Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

The minister narrated that even a local farmer in Nasarawa brought him 150 yams to sell as part of his contribution to procure the forms.

Nwajiuba made the revelation while reacting to a report making the rounds that his presidential campaign was sponsored by some oil moguls.

Gunmen Invade Bishop Kukah’s Church, Kidnap Priests, Others

Some yet-to-be-identified Gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday broke into one of the parishes presided over by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan-Kukah, and kidnapping two priests.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the armed hoodlums kidnapped two priests and two others in the rectory of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Gidan Maikambo, in the Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Kukah’s Sokoto Diocese covers Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi States.

The Director, Social Communications of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Rev. Fr Christopher Omotosho, confirmed the development to reporters on Wednesday morning.
