In a last attempt to clinch some good victory for themselves, the Nigerian National Under-20 men’s football team, the Flying Eagles, on Wednesday qualified for the semi-finals of the WAFU-B U-20 championship in Niamey, Niger Republic.

The team played a 2-2 draw with their Burkinabé counterparts in a thrilling encounter at the General Seyni Kountche Stadium, Niamey, to scale through in their second and last Group B match.

Revolution Plus Gives Out Lands To Lagos Marathon Winners

One of the sponsors of the 2022 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Revolution Plus Properties has put out a statement that it has fulfilled its promise by allocating some plots of land to winners of the just concluded competition.

Bamidele Onalaja who is the Managing Director of the Real Estate Company,, stated this in an interview on Wednesday in Lagos.

Woman Sentenced For 10 Months For Purse Theft

A purse thief met her waterloo when a Karu Upper Area Court, sitting in Abuja on Wednesday sentenced her to ten months in prison for stealing two friends’ purses containing valuables during a birthday party.

The convict whose name is Mrs Farida Ladipo-Ajayi, a resident of Aso B, Mararba, Nasarawa State had pleaded guilty to a three-count charge of criminal breach of trust, cheating, and theft.

Calabar Hoteliers Decry Constant Power Outages, Increased Bills

In a recent occurence, numerous Hoteliers in Calabar, Cross River State have decried the increasing cost of doing business due to the incessant power outage that has affected the State’s capital for 49 days.

In a series of interviews on Wednesday, the hoteliers said their operational costs had more than doubled since the outage.

They lamented that the rising cost of diesel, the major source of energy used in powering their generating sets, had also not helped matters. They further said that the high taxation by the state government had also impacted negatively on their business.
