Celtic Fires Ahead To Clinch Scottish Title

In the football world, Celtic put on an impressive performance as they put the Scottish title beyond the reach of Rangers after coming from behind to beat Hearts 4-1 on Saturday.

Celtic is now nine points and 22 goals ahead of last season’s champions Rangers, who have three games left starting with Sunday’s Ibrox clash with Dundee United.

During the game, Ellis Simms threatened to spoil the party when he fired Hearts into an early lead. But Celtic turned the game around before half-time through goals from Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi.

Ekiti: APC Secretariat Shut Down As Party Supporters Protest

There was turmoil in the APC party secretariat in Ekiti as aggrieved members protested on Saturday over the alleged plot to impose the Deputy Speaker of the  House of Assembly, Mr Hakeem Jamiu, for a second term.

Some of the aggrieved APC members, who were from Irepodun/Ifelodun State Constituency II, accused the State  Working Committee, led by Mr Paul Omotoso, of working with some of the individuals in government to force Jamiu on them.

Jamiu, who is from Igbemo-Ekiti , is a serving lawmaker in the Assembly, representing Irepodun/Ifelodun constituency II.

The Sultan of Sokoto and the President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared that children who were orphaned as a result of insurgency would be left in his care and are his responsibilty.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed grief as several people are feared dead after a boat sank in Mai’aduwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
