I’ve Empowered 5,000 Constituents In 3 years – Bamidele

The Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Opeyemi Bamidele, says that more than 5,000 members of his senatorial district have benefitted in his empowerment programmes in the last three years.
Bamidele made the disclosure during his 2021 mega empowerment programme, held at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.

The African Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) on Tuesday said that the country’s logistics supply chain management was in urgent need of efficacious remedial measures.

The Managing Director, ARM Securities Ltd., Mr Rotimi Olubi, has attributed sustained rally on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd (NGX) to heightened uncertainties in the fixed income space.

Olubi disclosed this in an interview on Tuesday in Abuja.

A legal practitioner, Festus Onifade has disagreed with MultiChoice Nigeria Limited, the operator of DStv and Gotv, over the firm’s application challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal in a suit filed against it over alleged tariffs hike.

Onifade and Coalition of Nigeria Consumers (CNC), in a counter-affidavit filed before a Federal Competition and Consumer Protection (FCCPC) Tribunal sitting in Abuja described the prayers by MultiChoice as “incongruous.”

The Inter- Party Advisory Council (IPAC), South-west zone, says it has set up an executive team, headed by Mr Dare Ojo, who is the Oyo council Chairman.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has confirmed that his administration was set to commence the evacuation of street beggars who are not ready to accept decent and meaningful ventures.

Obaseki gave this confirmation while addressing the Muslim faithful who were on a courtesy visit to the Government House, Benin City, on Monday.

He warned that anyone, whose children were not in school but on the street begging or trading, would be arrested and consequently prosecuted.

An Israeli rights group have alleged that Israel is holding no fewer than 600 Palestinian detainees without charge or trial, which is the highest number since 2016.
