Guinness Nigeria Rakes In ₦15.27bn Profit In 3 Months

Guinness Nigeria which is a subsidiary of Diageo Plc, and the leading total beverage alcohol company in Nigeria has posted a boosted Profit After Tax of ₦15,278,335,000 billion for its third-quarter period ended March 31, 2022.

The company in a statement issued on Thursday said the amount represents a 731 per cent growth over same period in 2021.

The statement said Guinness Nigeria also reported a revenue of ₦159,444,503 which represents a 39 per cent growth over the same period last year.

‘The results show an impressive performance and a significant improvement when compared to the same period last year.’

As further sanctions arise as a result of the ongoing conflict between the Ukraine and Russia, the Russian foreign ministry announced that it has banned entry to 287 British MPs on Wednesday after the UK blacklisted Russian lawmakers over Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.

FG Clarifies National Theatre Renaming

The Federal Government has clarified that it is not re-naming the entire Lagos National Theatre complex, built in 1976 to host the 1977 Festival of Arts, popularly known as FESTAC.

The government clarified that it is merely renaming the complex housing the edifice.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the complex housing the National Theatre would be known as Lagos Creative and Entertainment Centre, with four creative hubs and other facilities currently under construction.

Nigeria daily consumption of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, has risen from 72.07 million litres a day in December 2021 to 74 million litres per day as at the week ended April 3, 2022.
