The Executive Secretary Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) Rev. Yakubu Pam, says insecurity in Nigeria would come to an end if Nigerians engage in productive ventures.
Pam made this disclosure on Saturday at theā Nzem Berom Cultural Festivalā in Abuja.
The NCPC Boss, who was the Chairman of the Occasion, further challenged Nigerians to rise up to the occasion and embrace discipline which is the hallmark of success.
He urged the Berom people to always identify with their culture and build a strong economic base.
Pam further averred that ācorruption is what destroys a nation and it is not only limited to governance but even individuals are culpable.
āWhat sustains the culture and religion of a people is business and economic strength.
āI am very proud to be a Berom man because we have never done away with our culture anywhere we find ourselves.ā
Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, who was represented by the Commissioner of Information, Plateau State, Dan. Manjang said, togetherness, and love for one another were central to the Beroms.
āIrrespective of religion, political inclinations, tribe, culture and individual differences are the major way the Berom community will remain strong and March forward,ā he said.
Earlier, the President of Berom Community Association in Abuja, (BECA), Dr. David Gyang- Dung, in his address of welcome, stated that the significance of the event was to celebrate our unity and harmony.

He said it was also to promote and showcase our rich culture.
āAs you can see, everyone here is putting on dresses with colors of maroon and bush green.
āThe bush green color signifies the cactus plant which is found in the largest quantity in Jos, Plateau State.
āWe are all welcome to the Nzem Berom Abuja 2022 Fund Raising of 100 Million Naira for the Building of āLala Berom Abuja,ā he said.
According to him, this isĀ to support the Berom community and environs, to make an impact.
āWe have been allocated 1.4 hecters of land in Kuje Area Council to make an impact into the lives of our members and those around us.
āThis event serves to open doors for farming season and for integration with other cultures as the Berom man is known for farming and hunting,ā he said.
He added that the āThe Lala Berom Abujaā would add to the elevation of poverty amongst the Berom community.
āWe are developing a skills acquisition center in this edifice, where we will have people coming to learn vocational skills thereby improving the standard of living of our people and those around our community.
āSo, I call on you all to come and join us to build for the upliftment of our nation,ā he said.
Also in his remarks, the father of the day, Dr. Jonah Madugu, disclosed that there would be a launch of the Berom Trust Fund at the upcoming Berom economic summit andĀ cultural festival that would be held in Jos this year.
Hon Dachung Bagos, member representing Jos South/East Federal Constituency said the reason for the cultural day was to promote unity andĀ cordial living.
He said culture, not minding the location, has a way of uniting people and eliminating hatred and unfriendliness, he added that this same event was held in the U.S. early in the year.
āThe Nigeria culture is all about unity andĀ culture is all about peaceful co-existence among ourselves,ā he said.
The highlights of the occasion was the parade of all the BECA associations in different locations of Abuja, Nassarawa and Niger States.
There was also the presentation of the 2022 Miss ā BECA Zere Berom,ā āBerom Beauty Queenā, cultural dances and showcasing of Berom local delicacies.
