MTN Nigeria, Pan-Atlantic University Unveil Media Innovation Program

MTN Nigeria and Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) on Wednesday announced the launch of the MTN Media Innovation Programme (MTN MIP) to be run by PAU’s School of Media and Communication (SMC).

The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Mr Karl Toriola, said that the six-month, fully funded fellowship for Nigerian media practitioners was designed to support the sustainable development of the nation’s changing media landscape.

The National Commission for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) and other stakeholders on Wednesday converge on Abuja to validate the National Accessibility Standard Code to make movements of persons with disability into facilities easy.

The Executive Secretary of NCPWD, Mr James Lalu, in his address at the meeting said the commitment of the commission to the implementation of the National Accessibility Standard Code document was total.

FG Clarifies National Theatre Renaming

The Federal Government has clarified that it is not re-naming the entire Lagos National Theatre complex, built in 1976 to host the 1977 Festival of Arts, popularly known as FESTAC.

The government clarified that it is merely renaming the complex housing the edifice.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the complex housing the National Theatre would be known as Lagos Creative and Entertainment Centre, with four creative hubs and other facilities currently under construction.

Nigeria daily consumption of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, has risen from 72.07 million litres a day in December 2021 to 74 million litres per day as at the week ended April 3, 2022.

This came as 36 states along with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, received a total of 1.03 billion litres of petrol in 14 days.
