Nigeria Customs Service Seizes Drugs, 94 Bales Of Used Clothing

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit, Zone “B’’ in Kaduna, seized contraband worth ₦232,530,050:42 between  March 23  and April 25 within its area of operation.

Briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna, the Comptroller, NCS, Federal Operations Unit, Zone “B” Kaduna, Mr Albashir Hamisu, stated that 92 seizures were recorded by the unit within the  period including twelve vehicles.

Hamisu said that while seven of the vehicles seized were being smuggled into the country through unapproved routes, the remaining five were used to convey unregistered drugs and other contrabands.

Ataga: Court Dismisses Objection By Chidinma’s Lawyer

A Lagos High Court sitting at the Tarawa Balewa Square on Tuesday dismissed the objection raised by the counsel to Chidinma Ojukwu to cross-examine an employee of Access Bank  over the late Mr Usifo Ataga’s bank statements tendered as exhibits.

Justice Yetunde Adesanya, however, admitted the bank statements as exhibits.

Ojukwu is standing trial for the alleged murder of Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Super TV.

The 36 State Governors have prayed a Federal High Court in Abuja to restrain the Federal Government from approving the deduction of any money accruing to the states from the Federation Account for the payment of 418 million dollars judgment debt.

The Attorneys-General of the 36 states made this prayer known in a motion on notice marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1313/2021 dated and filed on March 28 before Justice Inyang Ekwo.

Trade volume between Indonesia and Nigeria reached 2.46 billion dollars between 2016 and 2021, says Amb. Usra Harahap, Ambassador of Indonesia to Nigeria.
