Grid Collapse: We’ve Rectified Nationwide Blackout – FG

The Federal Government on Wednesday, declared that it has solved the power outage being experienced across the country following Tuesday’s blackout.

Meanwhile, the apex government blamed pipeline vandalisation, grid collapses among other challenges as causes of the recurrent nationwide blackout.

The Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, made this disclosure while briefing State House Correspondents after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Denmark Set To Ban Cigarette Sale To People Born After 2010

Denmark has unveiled plans that would ensure that future generations are tobacco-free, and is presently considering banning the sale of cigarettes and other nicotine products to anyone born after 2010.

Speaking on Wednesday, Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said;  ‘Our hope is that all people born in 2010 and later will never start smoking or using nicotine-based products’.

‘If necessary, we are ready to ban the sale (of these products) to this generation by progressively raising the age limit,’ he added.

Another American Journalist, Zakrzewski Killed In Ukraine

Another American journalist whose name was given as Pierre Zakrzewski was on Wednesday killed in Ukraine after the vehicle in which he was travelling with a Ukrainian journalist was struck by incoming fire.

Zakrzewski, who is a cameraman for Fox News reportedly died alongside Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra ‘Sasha’ Kuvshynova.

Zakrzewski, 55, was reporting with fellow Fox News journalist, Benjamin Hall, yesterday when they came under attack near the capital Kyiv, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said in a note to staff.
