The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to the audiotape alleging that Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami controls the anti-graft agency.

In the trending audio, Mohammed Idris, a lawyer, and police officer attached to the EFCC made serious claims regarding the influence of Malami.

The operative stated that the AGF, who supervises the commission head by Abdulrasheed Bawa, compromised cases of corruption.

In one of the recordings published by Daily Nigerian, Idris is heard discussing with Abdulbari Yusuf, a brother of retired Rear Admiral, Tahir Yusuf, facing trial.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Akwa Ibom State University chapter, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin local government area, has made a public announcement that rejected the November Salary plan by the state government and threatened to resume its suspended strike.

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) on Thursday matriculated 72 inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre, Abuja to study various courses.

The Vice-Chancellor, NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters, urged the students to make use of their study materials judiciously.

The VC who was represented by the National Coordinator, Special Studies, NOUN, Mrs Modupe Adesina, described the collaboration between NOUN and NCoS as very smooth.
