Imo State governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has lamented that the inmates that escaped from the Owerri Correctional Center some months ago as a result of jailbreak are presently on the rampage, wreaking havoc on the state.

Belarus has retaliated against the international community’s latest round of sanctions by imposing its own entry bans and import restrictions, announced by the Foreign Ministry in Minsk yesterday.

Belarus will ban ‘the import of a number of goods originating from the states applying the illegitimate anti-Belarusian sanctions,’ the ministry said.

The police in Sudan on Monday fired tear gas as thousands of protesters rallied against the military-dominated government near the presidential palace in Khartoum, witnesses told reporters.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that an official and medics said close to 50 people had been killed in a outburst of tribal violence.

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on the Nigerian Army to do more in intelligence gathering and synergy with other security agencies in order to stem terrorism and other forms of insecurity confronting Africa’s most populous country.
