The organised labour in Cross River State, which has been on industrial action for four weeks, has vowed to completely shut down the state in the coming days if Governor Ben Ayade refuses to personally address their issues.

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Lagos State, on Wednesday confirmed an attack on its personnel at the Lagos High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), during a hearing for inmates.

The Lagos state NCoS spokesperson, Mr Olarotimi Oladokun, confirmed the attack in an interview with the Africa Daily News, New York in Lagos, saying the attack was staged by persons suspected to be associates of an inmate with a view to hijacking him.

He further confirmed that one of the attackers was shot while trying to dispossess an armed personnel of his rifle.

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Bauchi State has cautioned petroleum marketers against unauthorised hike in pump price and hoarding of the product.

Abdullahi Iliyasu, DPR’s Operations Controller in Bauchi, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

No fewer than 19 people have been confirmed dead and 50 others wounded following an attack on a military hospital in Kabul on Tuesday.

The Federal Government of Nigeria is vigorously committed to implementing a comprehensive nationwide transition from analogue to digital broadcasting, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has stressed.

The Minister, while speaking, Tuesday at the launch of the Digital Switch Over in Kano, explained that the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting became has become very necessary following a treaty signed at a regional radiocommunications workshop at Geneva in 2016.
