Ayade Begs FG To Help Complete Obudu Passengers Airport

Governor Benedict Ayade of Cross River State has appealed to the federal government to assess its ongoing construction of Obudu Passengers and International Airport with a view to extending robust support to it.

He said the appeal is in view of the expectations of commissioning the airport in six months.

He spoke in Calabar on Wednesday, stressing the need to stamp the state on the world tourism map.

Lagos Court: Correctional Service Confirms Attack On Personnel

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Lagos State, on Wednesday confirmed an attack on its personnel at the Lagos High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), during a hearing for inmates.

The Lagos state NCoS spokesperson, Mr Olarotimi Oladokun, confirmed the attack in an interview with the Africa Daily News, New York in Lagos, saying the attack was staged by persons suspected to be associates of an inmate with a view to hijacking him.

He further confirmed that one of the attackers was shot while trying to dispossess an armed personnel of his rifle.

No fewer than 19 people have been confirmed dead and 50 others wounded following an attack on a military hospital in Kabul on Tuesday.

No fewer than five people have been confirmed dead following a fatal plane crash on Tuesday morning shortly after take off from Juba International Airport, South Sudanese aviation authorities have disclosed.
