Taliban Begin Paying Salaries To Govt Employees

Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities said Saturday they had begun paying government employees who had not received a paycheck since the Islamists seized power and triggered a major financial crisis.

Most government employees have yet to return to work and many had not been paid for months even before the Taliban captured power, especially rural workers.

“We are going to start paying salaries from today. We will pay three months’ salaries,” Ahmad Wali Haqmal, spokesman for the finance ministry said at a press conference.

AMCON Reports 1,000 Chronic Debtors Owing ₦3.96tn

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has submitted a list of its top 1,000 debtors to the National Assembly as part of the strategy to intensify its debt recovery drive.

NASS Finally Transmits Electoral Bill To Buhari For Assent

The Nigerian National Assembly has finally transmitted the amended Electoral Bill 2021 to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on the National Assembly Senator, Babajide Omoworare, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
