ASUU: Government Alone Cannot Fund Education – Ngige

Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has asserted that education cannot be funded by the government alone.

Ngige said this on Tuesday when he made an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York while responding to questions about the looming industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

He said; ‘The state of education here is not anything to cheer about, I agree. The standard has fallen, I agree. But education cannot be funded by Government alone’.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Tuesday killed no fewer than two persons in a fresh attack on Rafinkada village of Wukari Local Government Council of Taraba State.

FG Paying Lip Services To Security Challenges – Gov Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has accused the Federal Government of not taking the fight against insecurity seriously noting that the Government was only paying lips service to the security challenges bedevilling the country.
