The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra has denied reports that it called for the cancellation of last Saturday’s governorship election in the State.

The West African regional grouping ECOWAS on Sunday hardened its stance against military-ruled Mali and Guinea, imposing new individual sanctions and calling on both countries to honour timetables for a return to democracy.

Former chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, has been convicted and sentenced by the Federal High Court, Abuja to 61 years imprisonment.

He was convicted for money laundering and stealing ₦2 billion belonging to pensioners.

The new Speaker of the Imo House of Assembly, Mr. Kennedy Ibeh, (APC Obowo), has condemned the activities of the former Speaker, Paul Emeziem (APC Onuimo) while he was in office.

Ibeh said the impeachment of Emeziem was his reward for the impeachment of the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu (APC Nwangele).
