Xavi Reacts To His Appointment As Barcelona’s New Manager

Xavi Hernandez has reacted to his appointment as Barcelona’s new manager.

Barcelona confirmed Xavi, a club legend, as their new manager on Friday.

Xavi, signed a two-and-half-year deal, with Barcelona after saying his goodbyes to Qatari side, Al-Sadd ahead of his return to the Blaugrana.

Barcelona expects Xavi, who replaces Ronald Koeman, to arrive at the club this weekend ahead of his official presentation and first press conference at the Nou Camp on Monday.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has declared that, for the sake of fairness, justice and equity, whoever should emerge as President of Nigeria in 2023 should be a Christian.

#AnambraDecides: Aguata Witnesses Impressive Turnout

There was a large turnout of voters at the Amaesi Ward of Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra at the Saturday Governorship election in the state.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that voters came out as early as 7.30 am until the arrival of electoral officers by 8.35 a.m at the ward.

The ward is the ancestral home of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate, Mr Valentine Ozigbo.

Voting, however, began at about 9:40 a.m at Polling Units 5, 11, 12, 13, 15 located at the Social Centre in Amaesi ward, Aguata LGA.

Anambra Decides: Policemen Protest Non-Payment Of Allowances

Police officers deployed for Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State on Friday protested the alleged non-payment of their feeding allowance by the federal government.

 

Speaking on Friday, the officers demanded that the N10,000 approved for their feeding should be paid immediately.

A yet to ascertained number of people were feared killed on Friday night after a kerosene tanker exploded at the popular Kubwa Market in the nation’s capital.
