Zulum Visits LGA Ruled By Boko Haram For 6 Years

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has spent two days in Diffa and Bosso provinces of the neighboring Niger Republic.

The governor led some Nigerian refugees on Thursday, to undertake clearance exercise in Malam-Fatori, headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area in northern Borno.

Malam-Fatori, located in the fringes of Lake Chad, was violently occupied by Boko Haram for about six years before the military took control.

Residents have been taking refuge in Diffa, and Bosso, which is about five kilometers from Malam-Fatori.

However, Zulum traveled to Niger on Tuesday evening and passed the night at Diffa.

Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, the President, African Development Bank (AfDB) says the bank is targeting to create 25 million new jobs by 2025.

Adesina said this when he delivered a lecture on ‘Social Media, National Security and Social Change: Bridging the Gap for Development in Africa’ in Lagos.

According to a statement issued by the bank on Friday in Abuja, Adesina underscored the enormous potential that Nigeria has for attracting global digital commerce and financial services.

Adesina added that the bank was also investing heavily in quality infrastructure to transform the backbone of Africa’s technological revolution.
