Court Imposes Fine On FFK In Money Laundering Case

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Wednesday was fined by Justice Daniel Osaigor of a Federal High court in Lagos in the sum of ₦200,000 for not making himself available for re-arraignment for alleged money laundering.

Osaigor fined Fani-Kayode after he had gone through the court’s file and noted five different letters by Fani-Kayode seeking adjournment on medical grounds.

The court, consequently, ordered that he should pay the sum or risks revocation of his bail.

Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6 Anambra State guber election, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, on Tuesday said he and a few other prominent Igbo Indigenes facilitated the release of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in 2017.

Soludo said he led 12 prominent Igbos to Abuja for the release of Kanu in 2017, while also noting that he would continue to protect the interest of Igbos in all their endeavours and incorporate them in his administration, especially in making public policies.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has blamed the United States for tensions on the peninsula and accused the South of hypocrisy, state media reported Tuesday, as he opened an exhibition showcasing his nuclear-armed country’s weapons.
