The leadership of the Northern Youths’ Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on its unrelenting efforts in ensuring that corruption is totally eliminated in the country.

The statement noted that the blockage of all revenue leakages in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) is a step taken in the right direction by the present administration to curtail corruption in the country.

Kaduna residents on Friday reacted to the suspension of felling of trees for timber, firewood, charcoal.

The Joint Union of Plateau State Owned Tertiary Institutions (JUPTI) has appealed to the state government to resolve the lingering issues which have led to the ongoing strike action across all institutions under the union, vowing not to resume work if the issues are not resolved.

JUPTI said their members are being owed 25 percent of withheld Treasury Single Account funds, totaling ₦460 million since 2016.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday revealed that battle-hardened militants from Iraq and Syria are ‘actively’ entering Afghanistan.

Speaking in a video conference with security service chiefs of ex-Soviet states, Putin said, ‘The situation in Afghanistan is not easy’.

‘Militants from Iraq, Syria with experience in military operations are actively being drawn there,’ he added.

Nigeria and Germany have put pen to paper on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the repatriation of hundreds of Benin bronzes from 2022.

Nigeria is expecting about 1,130 pieces of artifacts from the world power.

On Wednesday, Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, received a German government delegation in Abuja.

Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, is critically ill and he has been rushed to hospital in Cotonou, Benin Republic, his lawyers have revealed.
