Nigerian Senate Uncovers 400 Abandoned Water Projects

The Nigerian Senate Committee on Water Resources on Tuesday disclosed that it has uncovered no fewer than 400 abandoned water projects responsible for the incessant acute water scarcity across the country.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Water Resources, Senator Bello Mandiya who made this known while briefing newsmen after the budget defence by the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Suleiman Adamu, said some of the dams were cited where dams cannot even be constructed.

The trial of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has received the attention of the international community following the issuance of what was termed ‘Urgent Appeals’ by the United Nations to both the Nigerian and Kenyan governments, demanding immediate stoppage of any torture or violation of his rights.

2023: South-West Governors Meet In Lagos, Visit Tinubu

The South-West  Governors Forum yesterday held a meeting in Lagos State to discuss the issue of insecurity and other burning concerns affecting the region.

Chairman of the forum and Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, chaired the meeting which took place at the Lagos House in the Marina area of the state.
