President Muhammadu Buhari has showered praises on former Senate President, Dr. Ken Nnamani for the role he played in stabilising the nation’s democracy while presiding over the Senate.

The Commander-in-Chief stated this, Thursday, at the launching/public presentation of the book, ‘Standing Strong: Legislative Reforms, Third Term and Other Issues of the 5th Senate,’ written by Nnamani.

We Can’t Confirm Terrorist Attack On Our Train – NRC MD

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) Mr. Fidet Okhiria, has refuted claims of terrorists/bandits attacks on its train within the Abuja-Kaduna rail corridor.

Okhiria, who spoke to newsmen confirmed that part of the rail track was destroyed.

However, he attributed the incident to suspected vandals, saying investigation to unravel what happened is underway.

‘It’s true our rail track was damaged,’ he said, adding that he couldn’t confirm if its a terrorist attack.

Okowa Presents ₦469.5bn 2022 Budget To State Assembly

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta on Thursday presented a budget proposal of ₦469.5 billion for the 2022 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly for approval.

Bandits: Nigerian Railway Corporation Suspends Operations

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has suspended its operations after bandits detonated explosives on the tracks serving the Abuja-Kaduna line.

The attack, which took place between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, left passengers traumatised, with reports that the attackers also fired live rounds into driver compartments.

Confirming the incident, Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, revealed that the train he boarded ran into a portion damaged by explosives used in attacking a Kaduna-Abuja train, adding that he narrowly escaped death.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday lost his bid to be moved to the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Kanu’s request to be moved from the Kuje Correctional Centre from the Department of State Service, DSS, facility was rejected by Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court.
