Religion Shouldn’t Trigger Violence In Kaduna, El-Rufai Warns

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has warned citizens of the State against allowing religion to be a trigger for violent conflict.

This is as he lamented that religion has been weaponised to the point that it has become a device used to question the right of some people to exist and practice their faith.

El-Rufai, however, pointed out that the state’s Religious Preaching Edict of 1984, which his administration reviewed in 2016, will help stamp out the poison from the negative practice of religion.

Anxiety As Explosions Rock Nigeria Army Barracks In Calabar

There was panic yesterday evening as loud explosions were heard intermittently rocking Ebrutu Army barracks in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

It was immediately unclear what is caused the explosion, however, the army has now come out to state that the explosions were mere routine operations. In the meantime, roofs of buildings in adjoining settlements close to the barracks are being shattered and window panes in some buildings pulled down.

A source in the area, Ekong James, told reporters that the roofs of buildings in the estate he resides in were affected.
