There was outrage at the Margaret Ekpo Airport in Calabar on Sunday, after passengers from Abuja on an Aero Contractor flight found that the airline had deliberately abandoned their luggage before take off.

Airline officials had claimed that passengers were hinted that their luggage would not be flying with them but those affected insisted the airline abandoned their luggage in Abuja on purpose, allegedly to conserve aviation fuel.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Monday has opened up on why he has not signed the anti-open grazing bill into law like some of his colleagues in other States.

The immediate past chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega, has lashed out at the Nigerian National Assembly for downplaying the importance of the electronic transmission of results in general elections, claiming that federal lawmakers were ignoring the innovation for self-interest.

Jega stressed that the constitutional provision that prohibits the use of technology is a hindrance to electronic voting in the country which he said was cost-effective and easy to deploy.
