Igboho: FG To Appeal ₦20bn Oyo Court Judgment — Malami

The Federal Government is set to appeal the judgment of an Oyo State High Court which awarded ₦20 billion in damages against the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Department of State Services (DSS) in favour of  Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho.

The AGF, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN), announced the decision of the Federal Government to appeal the judgment while speaking on the development in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York on Friday.

FOREX: Naira Crashes Further At Parallel Market

The Nigerian Naira, on Thursday, plunged further at the parallel market against the dollar exchanging for ₦562 to $1.

It lost ₦6 from ₦562 traded on Wednesday to exchange at ₦568 to the dollar, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at ₦774 and ₦660, respectively.

Trading at the official Investors and Exporters window saw the Naira closing at ₦410 to the dollar as at Wednesday, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at ₦567.67 and ₦485.53, respectively.

Data from the CBN also showed the Naira exchanged at 0.739 Kobo to the CFA.

The Federal Government has again assured Nigerians that all issues that led to the suspension of activities of the popular microblogging platform, Twitter, will be sorted out soon which would lead to bringing it back.
