Guinea’s military junta has barred its members from contesting for any political position in the next elections that will mark a return to civilian rule in the country.

This is even coming as the junta announced on Monday a transitional charter that confirmed military leader Colonel Mamady Doumbouya as the president following the coup earlier this month.

Africa Daily News, New York understands that the charter also provides for a government headed by a civilian prime minister and a national transitional council that will temporarily act as a parliament.

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has given further reasons as to why he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

FFK reiterated that he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join hands to move the country forward.

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri on Monday has explained why he believes that late Nigerian dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha remained a great man in Bayelsa.

The governor pointed out that the dictator is a hero in Bayelsa for creating the state.
