Villagers Flee As Boko Haram Attacks Yobe Community

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Babbangida village in Yobe State. The incident, which caused many of the villagers to flee, is coming one month after the terrorists launched an assault on the community. 

The latest attack on the headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government Area was confirmed by a resident of the community, Audu Ali, who told reporters that there was a heavy gun battle between the military and the suspected Boko Haram members.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked the Evangelical Church of Winning All (ECWA), Gavaciwa in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, gunning down a worshipper while several others were left injured.

Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Luigi Di Maio has explained why the Taliban government in Afghanistan would not be recognised.

He however, submitted that Afghans should start receiving the financial support that was frozen after the armed group took power last month.

Taliban Ban Barbers From Shaving Beards, Playing Music

The Taliban have placed a ban on barbers in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province from shaving men’s beards and playing music in their shops.

In a statement on Sunday which was sighted by Africa Daily News, New York, the Taliban-led Department of Promoting Virtue and Preventing Vice in the province ordered barbers to comply with the new regulation.

‘From today, shaving beards and playing music in barbershops and public baths is strictly prohibited.’
