Fresh Strike Imminent Any Moment From Now, ASUU Warns
The Yola zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the public to prevail on the federal and state governments to accede to the union’s demands to avoid a fresh strike.
Mr Reuben Jonathan, Zonal Coordinator made the appeal at a news conference on Thursday which was sighted by Africa Daily News, New York.

Abducted Catholic Priest Regains Freedom In Kaduna
An abducted Catholic priest identified Reverend Father Luka Yakusak, in charge of St. Mathew’s Catholic Church, Anchuna in Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been set free by his abductors.
Africa Daily News, New York suspected bandits had on Monday night kidnapped Yakusak.
However, in a statement on Wednesday by Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Uchechukwu Okolo, Kafanchan Catholic Diocese confirmed that Fr. Luka Benson Yakusak has regained freedom from bandits.

Nigeria’s Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi has revealed that former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), CP Ibrahim Magu, is still on the Federal Government’s payroll as a police officer despite his suspension by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Rising Unemployment Can Wipe Out Nigeria – Ngige
Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, has stated the rising rate of unemployment portends danger for the country.
He blamed this on Tuesday and lack of education on the problems bedevilling the country, warning that if not tackled the country might be ‘completely wiped out.’

How Zamfara Emir Was Kidnapped – Police
The Kaduna Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Emir of Bungudu, Zamfara State, Alhaji Hassan Atto, and an unspecified number of commuters, along the Kaduna – Abuja highway.
