Zamfara bandits who are facing heavy fire from the Nigerian military from the air and land are now suing for peace.

Africa Daily News, New York can confirm that the terrorists want to dialogue with the government and have made overtures in this regard.

Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara made this disclosure on Saturday, but he dismissed the moves claiming it was now too late.

He said that the state government is no longer interested in dialoguing with bandits as they rejected the olive branch stretched to them earlier.

A High Court in Port Harcourt has declared that the suspension of the embattled National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, still subsists while also granting a perpetual injunction restraining Secondus from parading himself as the national chairman of the opposition PDP.

Justice O. Gbasam who presided over the matter upheld Secondus’ suspension Friday, in Suit No: PHC/2183/CS/2021 between Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nna Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen Umezirike Onucha (as claimants) and Prince Uche Secondus and People’s Democratic Party (defendants).

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has blocked the governments of Rivers and Lagos from collecting Value Added Taxes (VAT).

Africa Daily News, New York reports that in a ruling on Friday, Justice Haruna Simon Tsanami, also ordered that the law passed by Rivers State House of Assembly and assented to by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike be put on hold.

The judge gave the order hours before Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu signed the law on VAT.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to striking health workers in the country to return to their duty posts.

The President also called on others unions or groups contemplating strike action to opt for settlement of issues by negotiation, no matter how long it takes.

Buhari made the appeal when he hosted members of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) at the State House, Abuja, on Friday.

According to him, the lives of citizens that can be lost or damaged when doctors withdraw services, are precious enough to be worth opting for peaceful resolution of differences.

The United Nations (UN) has warned that ‘the collective future of Nigeria is under threat’ owing to the rising insecurity and spate of attacks by bandits on schools in recent times.

The warning is coming on the heels of recent coordinated killings and kidnappings of schoolchildren across Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and Zamfara states, which was lead to the forced closure of schools in these states.
