North Koreans Banned From Discussing Kim’s Weight Loss

North Korean Government has warned its citizens to refrain from talking about Kim Jong Un’s weight loss, stating that gossip is a ‘reactionary act’ that could attract heavy punishment.

Government authorities have insisted the national leader has been eating less ‘for the sake of the country’ in recent days as it grapples with severe food shortages and claimed Kim is healthy.

Speculation about Kim’s health started after photos showed the despot looking increasingly thin after he apparently shed up to 44 pounds earlier this year.

However, efforts to stifle gossip about Kim’s weight have failed.

Ethiopia Actively ‘Obstructing’ Aid For Tigray – US

The head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has lambasted the Ethiopian government for the shortage of humanitarian aid in the country’s northern region of Tigray.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, Samantha Power said food aid in the region will run out this week for the first time since fighting broke out in November last year.

‘This shortage is not because food is unavailable’ she says ‘but because the Ethiopian government is obstructing humanitarian aid and personnel, including land convoys and air access’.

Jihadists Attack Western Niger, Kill Villagers

Suspected jihadists have invaded a village in western Niger’s troubled ‘three-border’ region killing 17 people in the process.

According to a local elected official, the attack happened in the village of Theim in the Tillaberi region, at around 8:00 pm (1700 GMT) on Friday.

‘The toll is 17 dead and five wounded,’ he said.

A resident in regional capital Tillaberi narrated that around 10 people had been killed.
