19 Civilians Killed In DR Congo By ISIS-Linked Militants

No fewer than fourteen bodies were discovered on Saturday after an attack by jihadists in DR Congo, Africa Daily News, New York reports.

A local chief revealed that they were discovered by Red Cross workers who went into a nearby forest to look for those missing after the attack on Kasanzi village in the Beni territory of North Kivu.

Beni lies at the heart of an area where the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) — linked to the Islamic State — have mounted deadly attacks in spite of emergency security measures by President Felix Tshisekedi.

Senegal Searches For Dozens Lost After Migrant Boat Mishap

The Senegalese navy on Saturday disclosed that it was carrying out a search and rescue mission after a boat carrying about 60 migrants capsized earlier in the week.

The boat flipped over about 15 kilometres (nine miles) off the northern city of Saint-Louis, said the official, who asked not to be identified. The accident happened on Wednesday night, the navy statement said.

Those on board were trying to reach Spain, naval spokesman Ameth Sow told reporters.

At Least 12 US Troops, Civilians Killed In Kabul Blast

Twelve US servicemen were killed and 15 injured in two suicide bombing attacks in Kabul on Thursday by Islamic State militants, the head of US Central Command has revealed.

‘A number of Afghan civilians were also killed and injured in the attack,’ said General Kenneth McKenzie.

However, General McKenzie said the US airlift in Kabul will continue despite the attack.

‘We continue to execute our number one mission, which is to get as many evacuees and citizens out of Afghanistan,’ said General McKenzie.

Eight people, including two Chinese workers were killed and two others injured on Thursday after a crane collapsed at a construction site in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
