Unknown Gunmen Attack Imo Police Station, Behead Motorist

A motorist plying Owerri/Orlu road in Imo State has been beheaded by unknown gunmen with the man’s legs and hands chopped off at Okwudor junction in Njaba Local Government Area.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered from eyewitnesses in Njaba, that the incident happened on Saturday.

According to some community sources, hoodlums have been terrorising them in the area for the past week.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  have asserted that the ward congresses conducted by the ‘incapacitated’ All Progressives Congress amounts to a nullity, given the judgment of the Supreme Court on the Ondo State governorship election, which invalidates the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the ruling party.

The PDP made this assertion in a statement titled ‘APC Ward Congress A Nullity – PDP…Blames Buni, Others Over Fracas, Death’ which was issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in Abuja, on Sunday.

I Have No Joy Governing Katsina State – Masari

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has claimed that he has no joy governing a state plagued by insecurity.

According to Masari, the security situation in Katsina has been giving him sleepless nights and by so doing stealing his joy.

The governor made this known during an interview with DW Hausa yesterday which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York.

The government’s comment is coming barely one week after scores of armed bandits on motorbikes blocked Jibiya-Batsari road in Kabobi village, Katsina, after the Juma’at prayers and made away with 11 passengers.

FBI Indictment: Police Commission Suspends Abba Kyari

The Police Service Commission has ratified the suspension of a Deputy Commissioner of Police and Head, Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, Abba Kyari, from office.

According to a statement by the commission’s Head of Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani which was sighted by Africa Daily News, the decision was conveyed in a letter signed by Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, a retired justice of the Supreme Court.

Doctors Give Matawalle 2-Week Ultimatum To Tackle Insecurity

Doctors under the Umbrella of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Zamfara State chapter has issued a two-week ultimatum to the Bello Matawalle led State government to urgently address rising insecurity in the State or face the harsh consequences.
