Atiku Condemns Banditry, Insists On Restructuring

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned increasing banditry in Nigeria insisting that only restructuring can get the country working again.

He asserted that it won’t be a surprise if bandits and kidnappers apply for registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and seek listing at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

He also said Nigeria must restructure to witness accelerated development.

He said: ‘We needed to fix Nigeria to avoid sleep-walking our way towards disaster.’

A Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected an ex-parte application for an order restraining the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) from arresting and possibly extraditing the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari.

In a ruling on Thursday, Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the federal high court Abuja explained that he was not inclined to granting the relief sought in the ex-parte motion.

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday revealed that Turkey was still prepared to protect Kabul airport following the Taliban takeover, and Ankara was talking with all concerned parties.

Speaking in a televised interview, Erdogan said; ‘We aimed at ensuring the security of the airport and contributing to the security of this country after the withdrawal of American (troops). We still maintain this intention’.
