Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has told members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), not to assume that the bulk votes the party had in 2015 and 2019 would remain intact in 2023 as President Muhammadu Buhari whose personality attracted the votes will not be on the ballot.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has urged the Taliban and all other parties to exercise utmost restraint in order to protect lives and ensure that humanitarian needs were addressed in Afghanistan.

Guterres made the call through a note from his Spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, on Sunday in New York, following the development in the country.

According to reports, Taliban fighters on Sunday took over the Afghan capital and President Ashraf Ghani fled abroad leaving the government in collapse.

Malaysia’s cabinet led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has tendered its resignation to the king, science minister Khairy Jamaluddin has disclosed.

The cabinet resigned on Monday, after months of political turmoil that resulted in a loss of the premier’s majority.

Khairy announced the news in a post on Instagram. Prime Minister Muhyiddin was earlier seen entering the national palace on Monday, after reports he would tender his resignation to the king.
